Domestic FAQS

Southern Districts Junior Basketball League (SDJBL)

The Southern Districts Junior Basketball League (SDJBL) is a local competition jointly run by South Adelaide Basketball Club and Southern Tigers Basketball Club for families seeking an organised, localised, and affordable basketball competition. The SDJBL competition gives players a stepping stone towards the District program.

The Domestic competition is open to all junior players (U8s to U18s) of all abilities. Our competition runs in only boys' and girls' grades; mixed grades are no longer available.

Times vary depending on the coach, but each week will have a set day and time. Training times are announced closer to the commencement of the season.

How much does it cost?

There are three costs –

  • Club membership fees of $220 per season
  • Basketball SA Affiliation fee (paid separately) of $26.05 – covers all affiliation fees and insurance + $5 Basketball Australia Levy. This fee is a yearly fee, collected by BasketballSA through the Basketball Connect app( a link will be emailed out when to register in this app)

Each player is required to pay $130 upfront per season as the game fee. This payment replaces the weekly court-side payments collected by team managers.

How do I get a playing number?

Once the player registers and receives confirmation that they have been placed on a team, they must be issued an SABC player number.

SABC Domestic player numbers are issued by contacting the admin at admin@southadelaidebasketball.com.au

NOTE: Player numbers DO NOT transfer between Domestic & District. If you are a Domestic player going into the District competition, you must obtain a District player number. Occasionally, we may be able to issue you with the same number. However, it is not guaranteed.

NOTE: If you intend on purchasing a second-hand uniform, you must first check with the above-listed to determine whether or not the player number is available. If it is available, your number will be registered on our system. If you obtain a second-hand top and do not register the number, you will be expected to change numbers (buy a new top) in the event of a clash with an existing player or any future player.
